What Happened

A contractor in Gainesville, FL stopped his team from “removing” the “mold problem” by, as they suggested, “spraying it with bleach.” The contractor insisted that the mold remediation be done correctly and called PUDDLES.

Upon completion of the work, PUDDLES insisted that the client retain an independent company to conduct a post remediation verification test to confirm that the mold remediation was done correctly.

We were “lucky” to pass a PRV with a gaping hole in the floor.

What We Did 

  • Created a containment to minimize cross contamination
  • Sealed off the floor from the exterior elements
  • Removed the remaining drywall and insulation to conduct further investigation which uncovered more mold and affected materials with elevated moisture
  • Dried the affected materials
  • Wire brushed to remove the mold from the substrate
  • Sprayed substrate with EPA-approved plant-based anti-microbial
  • Encapsulated substrate
  • Passed the post remediation verification test
